Chipin: No Paw Left Behind
DONATE TO HELP JACK GET HIS MUCH NEEDED SURGERY! Big or small, whatever you can give will help reach No Paw Left Behind’s goal of $2,000 for Jack.
Jack is a tiny 9 week old Jack Russell Terrier puppy who was brought into a local shelter with his littermates. Soon after his litter arrived the shelter staff noticed that little Jack was injured. His pelvic area was bruised and swollen and he could not bear weight on his right hind leg. We rescued him and his litter and took him to the vet for xrays. Unfortunately, the xrays showed really bad news for Jack. His right leg is completely broken at the hip joint (the femur is not attached to the pelvis) and he could possibly have a fracture on his left leg in the same area. His leg cannot be surgically repaired and set in a cast like many broken bones can be. He needs a surgery called a femoral head ostectomy which involves removing the head and neck of the femur and creating a false joint. This is a very successful surgery in small breeds. Jack has to grow more and gain strength before the surgery can be completed. He has to have daily pain medication and a special prescription diet. This little baby is so brave and he doesn’t even cry even though we know he is hurting. Please help us save him!
